The maps compare how the layout of the museum changed between 1998 and 2008.
Overall, the museum underwent significant shifts, with the introduction of a restaurant, fountains, and a café sitting area. Despite these considerable changes, tickets and most of the permanent exhibition rooms remained unchanged.
In 1998, permanent exhibition rooms took up north-west and north-east sides of the map. The café and the garden separated these two exhibition rooms, with the former occupying the northern side of the layout. Temporary exhibition rooms, on the other hand, were positioned in the southern part of the museum, next to which was the entrance and the exit. The shop was located just below the eastern permanent exhibition rooms. The toilets and the area for bags and coats were situated in the south-east.
By 2008, the layout became a more visitor-oriented area. The removal of the shop, the restrooms, and the space allocated to bags and coats made room for the expansion of the permanent exhibition rooms. Consequently, the permanent exhibition rooms took up the entire east side. The restaurant and temporary exhibition rooms were developed in in the previous place of the western permanent exhibition rooms. The café shrunk, which resulted in the addition of the toilets. The café sitting area and the fountains were constructed inside of the garden. The shop and the area specified for bags and coats were relocated just under the temporary exhibition rooms. The entrance, in stark contrast, remained intact.
