The given line graph illustrates the use of renewable energy compared to the total by six diverse countries between 1971 and 2011.
Overall, it is evident that most countries experienced a significant increase over the course of forty years. Meanwhile, one particular country – Finland, reported a slight decrease before showing an upward trend.
In 1971, the UK had the lowest beginning at just above 0, then it grew moderately and reached the number of over 5 by 2011. Similarly, France and Germany reported quite a relatively high amount of renewable energy, at 5 and just below 10, respectively. Both then showed a fluctuation and surpassing to just below 15 by the end of the timeline.
Notably, both Denmark and the US shared the same progress path, by remaining relatively unchanged through the years, and recorded the same rate at over 15 in 2006. Nevertheless, the highest starting point was Finland, it then declined sharply to nearly 15 before expanding dramatically and overtaking the largest amount of renewable energy.
