The given line chart illustrates how much renewable energy was used in six countries over a 40-year period, commencing from 1971.
Overall, out of the surveyed nations, only Finland witnessed a sign of downturn in the proportion of renewable energy consumed. Despite this, this country consistently had the highest figures.
To elaborate, in 1971, there was a gradual increased from 15% and 7% to nearly 17% and 15% respectively in the share of renewable energy used in Denmark and France. At the same period, the comsumption of renewable enery in the US saw the most pronounced rise of over 14% to overtake the figures for Denmark from 2006 onwards. Meanwhile, the figures for Finland witnessed a slight decrease of 7% before recovering to around 24% to take the leading position of the whole graph.
Regarding categories with lower data, the proportion of erenewable energy used moderately went up from precisely 5% to about 14% at the end. Eventhough a steady growth of 6% was seen in the figures for the UK from 1971 to 2011, this number still ranked the lowest throughout the period.
