Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that wool production is a man-made, linear process involving several main stage.
This process begin with shearing sheep and culminates in the manufacture of final product such as jacket and carpet. Notably, while some waste is recycled, the majority of stages focus on transforming raw wool into usable yarn.
In the first step, sheep are shorn in order to collect raw wool, after which this material is cleaned thoroughly. Following this, the wool is dried before being processed in a carding machine, where it is separated into tufts of wool. Once this stage has been completed, the wool is either store for later use or prepared for further processing.
At the next stage, the wool is spun into balls of yarn, which are then used for knit. Afterwards, the yarn is made into finished products such as jackets or carpets. Meanwhile, any string produced during the process is recycled, thereby continuing the production cycles.
