The two maps show the main changes which occurred in Shipsmouth between 1995 and 2010. Overall, it appears that Shipsmouth was modernized in a great deal, with the appearance of more residential areas and amenities, marking its transformation from industrial to service economy.
One interesting change was that green areas in Shipsmouth were cleared to make way for apartment blocks and new airport which made the town more accessible thanks to improved transportation. Another striking change was that the church in the North-East and some houses nearby were demolished to erect the new high-rise buildings and a larger pub, which provided more accommodation for the local residents.
If we look at the South-West of the town, there used to be a factory, but it was turned into shopping centre, and the empty land was used to construct a completely new football stadium. Finally, on the other side of city centre, another station sprung up opposite the old one.
