The table and the pie chart present information on the attendance and profitability of four sports on an annual basis in North America. There is also a breakdown of how ice hockey generates money. In general, among four sports, baseball is the most attended, whereas football is the most lucrative. Basketball and ice hockey have the same attendance figures, but the latter has a smaller revenue.
In terms of attendance, baseball is by far the most visited with 73 million spectators per year. Football, on the other hand, is the least attended (17 million) but is the most profitable with 13 billion dollars. In comparison, basketball and ice hockey games are both attended by 22 million people but generate less money, with 5 and 4 billion dollars, respectively.
As for the financial breakdown, ice hockey makes 46% of all money through tickets. The second largest source is concessions (22%), while TV and sponsorships account for respective 19% and 13%.
