Overall, it can be seen that processed food has the highest proportion of consumption among other types of food worldwide, and also in two specific countries, while nuts and seeds have the lowest percentage of consumption.
First, in India and China, the proportion of processed food accounted for 39% and 34% respectively. Nuts and seeds consumption had the lowest point, with more than one in ten for both countries. The figures for animal food consumption showed a higher percentage in India than in China, at 27% and less than a quarter, respectively. In addition, vegetables and fruits accounted for just over a third in both countries.
In the world, the figures for nuts and seeds had a small minority of consumption, with only 4% which was lower than those two countries. Animal food and fruits, and vegetables had a similar percentage, with exactly 25%. The proportion of consumption for processed food accounted for less than a half percentage.
