The given pie chart illustrates the proportion of each retail sectors, specifically clothing, groceries, electronic appliances and home and kitchen, by online shopping in Canada in 2019 and 2020.
As is observed, the sale trends followed different patterns over 2 years with electronics appliances on an upward trend. Noticeably, in 2019, clothing sector was the dominant of online shopping, while electronics took over and lead the graph in 2020.
At the first glance, electronic appliances’ figure in 2020 was 45% compared to its one in 2019 which was only 19%, marking the increase of 26%. Moreover, clothing sector witnessed a downward trend from 38% in 2019 to 22% in 2020. Canadians also prefer to grocery online than the previous year, with 22% being accounted for in 2020.
With respect to home and kitchen’s data, 29% was reported in 2019, as opposed to 11% only was recorded in the year after, which means its statistic was decline by 18%.
