The pie charts represent the electric energy output, with 5 major sources of energy in the United States made up in percentage in 1970 and 1980: nuclear, hydro, oil, natural gas and coal.

According to the first diagram, which revealed a manufacturing in 1970, the most demanded category was coal ( 47 percent). In the year 1980, the index had grown to 51 percent. Back to 1970, classes such as oil and hydro had a difference in 4 percent and over the ten years their numbers were very similar. In addition, the amount of nuclear production increased to 11 percent, which was higher by 10 percent compared to year 1970. Natural gas declined from 24 percent to 15 percent.

Finally, the leading source of power in the United States was coal ( 47 percent in 1970 and 51 percent in 1980). Moreover, people started to use more nuclear for producing energy and hydro production decreased.
