The pie charts display oil, coal, hydro. solar, wind, gas and other types of energy sources used in Australia in 2008 and forecasting figures for 2030.
Overall, coal, oil and gas were the most popular sources of energy used in Australia in 2008. By 2030, it is expected that coal usage will decline, however, oil and gas use is predicted to increase, becoming the main types of energy sources.
In 2008, coal, oil and gas consumption made up 39%, 32.5% and 22.9%, respectively. By 2030, it is predicted that coal usage will decrease by 12 percent from 39% to 27%, while oil and gas figures rise up until 35.5% and 32% respectively.
As it can be seen hydro, solar, wind and other types of the energy sources consumption was less important in Australia in 2008 achieving 0.2, 1.3, 0.3 and 3.8% appropriately. The predicted figures for these types of energy use increased and cosist 0.7, 4.3, 1.2 and 3.6% respectively by 2030. It is noticeable that hydro solar energy expected changed by geothermal reaching 4.3% by 2030.
