The pie chart illustrates the proportion of energy sources used in Australia in 2008 and the predicted figures for 2030.
Overall, coal was the most important energy sources used in Australia in 2008, and although it expected to decrease, it will remain one of the most used type of energy in the future. While other energy sources show slight growth or negligible changes, oil and gas remain and projected more popular of energy source by 2030.
In 2008, coal was the most widely used of energy source, although it is predicted to decline from 39% to 27%, it will remain one of the major energy sources by 2030. The next most consumed energy is oil and gas, they were accounted 32.5% and 22.9% respectively. However, the share of oil will increase to over 35.5%, becoming the first position of popularity in the future. In terms of used gas energy, in 2030, it will be grown approximately for 10% and accounted for 32%.
Using solar, hydro, wind and other type of energy among Australian consumers, in 2008, was not popular. However, as predictions for 2030 indicate that, two type of energy: wind and geothermal expected to growth. The used wind energy source will be increased from 0.3% to 1.20% until 2030. Despite the geothermal energy was not used in the past, as well as forecast, in 2030 this energy will made up 4.3%.
