The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of the common reasons of learning a different language among students and the recent change of those reasons that are being surveyed by foreign languages teachers in Britain.
Overall, the reason for studying a foreign language in travel, business, and buy property overseas accounted for a large part of the first pie chart. Although business and Buy property overseas are still making up for the dominant areas, travel becomes a lowest position after the change occurs. Notably, general interest, foreign partners, and personal development take up small percentages of both charts.
Regarding dominance categories, the proportion of the reasons for students learning a new language in travel accounted for the first rank in the chart, at 33%, but it reduces dramatically to only 3%, becoming the least appealing choice among students. There is a significant contrast between business and buy property overseas. In detail, their proportions of reasons why pupils choosing to learn foreign languages are 26% and 19%, respectively, and then account for 19% and 34%.
Looking at the remaining reasons, social contacts start at just 7% and rise to 15% in the second pie chart. Besides that, the proportion of students who do not change their decision makes up for 15%. In notable, there are few justifications among general interest, foreign partners, and personal development in the period, but they are in the low spots and do not affect the entire charts just under 10%.
