The three pie charts depict the age distribution of users on various social media platforms in Australia between 2011 and 2013.
Overall, in three years the users on Facebook and Twitter accounted for over half of platforms, while the least were LinkedIn, Google+, and Pinterest . There was only a negligible increase in usage from LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest, whereas Google+ almost doubled. Facebook was the only platform that experienced a decrease during this period.
The user base of Facebook comprised 59% in 2011, it decreased by approximately 10% to 21% in 2012 and remained at that level in 2013. Despite this decrease, it represented the most popular application. Meanwhile, the proportion of Twitter users increased by approximately 4% from 21% in the first year to 25% by the final year.
LinkedIn’s user base increased gradually from 10% in 2011 to 15% in 2013. Pinterest accounted for 5% but subsequently rose to 8%. Google, on the other hand, comprised of 5% by 2011 and increased over doubled in the both next years.
