The pie chart below illustrates the proportion of least household expenditure in a country between 1950 and 2010.
Overall, the contribution of amount spend on housing was the highest in 1950, whereas food became the top most contributor of income in recent years. Spending income on education was almost similar in both the years. Although the expenses on others was low before, became the biggest contributor of expenditure.
In 1950, people in a country contributed their most of the savings on housing with 72.1%, whereas in 2010 it dramatically decreased spending on it with 22%. The expenditure on food was 11.2% in recent years, in 2010 the most highly expenditure rate shifted to around 34%. Other expenditures showed about 4.4% in 1950, whereas in 2010 it rose to 19.2%. Thus, making one of the main contributors.
The other categories that also showed increased rates such as healthcare which was only 2.4% in 1950, made up to 4.5% in 2010. Transportation which recorded only 3.3%in 1950, consequently increased to 34.0%. The expenses spend on education was almost same with a slight decline i.e., from 6.6% to 6.3%.
