The pie charts compare the percentage of energy production from six different sources in France and Germany in 2020.
Overall, it is clear that the proportion of energy production from gas accounted for the highest share in France, while solar was the primary source in Germany in 2020. In addition, other energy was the least significant source in both countries.
In France, the percentage of energy production from gas accounted for the highest percentage, with a 30% share. This was followed by solar and nuclear, standing at 25%. Compared to Petrol at 10%, the proportion of energy production from coal was slightly lower, at 7%. Furthermore, other sources were a negligible proportion, at just 3%.
In Germany, solar topped the list with 28%, leaving other energy at the bottom with a mere 5%. Gas made up 25%, which was 7 percentage points higher than nuclear power. Moreover, petrol accounted for 14%, which was half as much as solar energy. Meanwhile, the share of energy production from coal constituted 10 percent.
