The two pie charts compare types of French energy generation in 1995 and 2005. Units are measured in percentages.
Overall, it can be seen that gas, petrochemicals, and coal produced the greatest amount of energy over the given period, while nuclear and other kinds of resources produced the least. However, the use of nuclear and other materials increased.
Firstly, coal was the most popular resource in French energy production in both periods; its usage in 1995 was 29.80%; after a decade, this grew slightly to 30.93%. In contrast, Petro saw a dramatic decline from 29.27% to 19.55%. Regarding gas, this substance experienced weak growth in energy production (29.63%–30.31%).
Secondly, in contrast with petrochemicals, the usage of other resources in power generation rose slightly from 4.9% to 9.10%. The same tendency can be noticed in the popularity of nuclear as a resource for energy generation; this unit faced an increase from 6.40% to 10.10%.
