The pie charts compare the proportion of causes for flight delays in a specific Asian country in two years.
It is clear that these delays were most often caused by the airline operations management as it took up almost half the pie charts in both years. Also, the number of flight delays caused by air traffic control witnessed the biggest drop in just one year compared to other reasons.
In 2015, the three biggest reasons why flights were postponed are because of airline operations management, air traffic control, and bad weather as they accounted for a total of 86% of the pie chart with airline operations taking up the most significant amount of 40%. For the two remaining causes, military factors took up 10% of the chart while airport security took up only 4% of the whole chart as it occurred the least compared t othe other causes.
In 2016, flight delays caused by airline operation still occur the most often compared to the remaining reasons. However, there was an evident change as flight delays caused by air traffic control dropped sharply from 25% to 12% in only a year whereas airport security rose quickly to 13%, replacing air traffic control as one of the three main causes for flight delays.
