Overall, the percentage of books and clothes sectors saw an increasing trend whereas the figures for travel and clothes experienced a dramatic decline over a decade.
In comparison between 2003 and 2013, the percentage of online sales for travel declined to 7 percent, ranging from 36 percent to 29 percent. A similar trend happened in the clothing category, which accounted for 24 percent in 2003 and 16 percent in 2013, witnessed a dramatic decrease in online sales.
Conversely, online sales figures increased in the rest two sectors namely Books and Film/Music. Even though the percentage for Film/Music surged sharply in online sales ranging from 21 percent to 33 percent over 10 years, the data for books was recorded a slight increase to 3 percent, from 19 percent to 22 percent.
