The Pie Charts illustrate how much money an average household spent on 5 five different sectors in Japan and Malaysia in 2010.
Overall, it is clear that on healthcare Japanese spent the least amount of money while other goods and services contributed the most on average expenditures. In contrast, although housing made up the biggest part, healthcare was the least significant part in Malaysian’s average expenditures.
Japanese average domestic spending on housing accounted for 6%, which was lower than Malaysian people, as they spend 34% on this sector. In terms of transportation, Malaysia’s expenditure stood at 10% while Japan spent double (20%). The graph also showed that average household expenditure on food in Japan was only 3% lower than Malaysia.
Regarding Healthcare Japan and Malaysia spent the lowest amount of their expenditures, only 6% and 3% respectively. Furthermore, Japanese spent 29% on other goods and services which was the highest expenditure sector for them while Malaysia’s expenditure stood at 26%.
