The given data displays the percentage of five different types of books sold by a bookseller between the years 1972 and 2012.
Overall, there here is a dramatic increase in the number of adult fiction books sold over the years, whereas, there is a steady decline in the interest of biographies as amount of Biographies sold lessen as the years go by.
During 1972 and 1992 there is an increase in the percentage of people exploring different kinds of books excluding Biographies and other books. Adult Fiction in particular has the highest increase rising from 20% in 1972 to 25% twenty years later, meanwhile biographies and other both decreased 5% in 20 years, with Children’s Fiction and travel gradually increasing over the years.
However in 2012, there is humongous increase in the number of individuals reading Adult Fiction peaking at 45% which is a 20% increase as compared to the data in 1992, Children’s Fiction rises to 25% and a decline is seen in the different types of books with travel at 10% which has decreased by 5% from the start of the study, with the least biographies brought during this year.
