The pie charts compare various types of books were sold by bookseller from 1972 and 2012. The quantities are measured in proportion.
Overall, it is clear that all genres of books were erratic throughout the period. In addition, others types of book outnumbered that of others at the beginning, albeit with adult fiction exceed that of unclear books at the end.
In 1972, the percentage of unclear book was higher, at 25% compared to 12% by travel book. Additionally, other three types of genres ( biography, adult and children’s fiction) revealed a levelling off, at 20%.
Over the following 20 years. The massive figure was 25% of adult fiction, but only 15% and 20% unsure books, respectively. Furthermore, genres of children’s fiction and travel saw an upward trend. Former grew to 22%, and the latter rose to 18%.
A significant change was in 2012, where adult fiction forefronted that of others with having leading position, followed by children’s fiction maked up 25%. Notably, unclear and biography revealed a considrable drop by 8% ( 20%-12% and 18%-10%). Finally, travel book fell out of favor with the low position, at 8%.
