The charts illustrate the proportion of pop music fans by five age groups in 2018 and 2021.
Overall, fans in the age 15-18 age group had the highest percentage in both given years with 37% and 31% respectively. In 2018, the second highest percentage belonged to the 19-25 age group with 28%, while in 2021 the 26-34 year age group had the second highest percentage with 25%. There was a slight increase in the percentage of fans in the 56 and older age group from 2018 to 2021 rising from 3% to 7%, whereas the age category of 35-55 experienced an increase of 5% in the number of fans. The percentage of pop music fans in the 26-34 year category slightly increased from 21% to 25 %, making this age category the third highest in the both given years.
It can be seen that in both 2018 and 2021,teenagers in the age category 15-18 years comprised the highest proportion of pop music fans, while the age group 56 and older made up the lowest pop music fan group.
