The pie charts compares the reasons of traditional shopping and online shopping according to six factors.
Overall, saving time was one of the most common reason for online shopping, whereas for in-store it was being able to touch items. Remaining categories shared the rest almost equally, each representing a much smaller proportion.
Regarding greater variety, this reason was common for both shopping and made up 14% (online) and 17% (in-store), suggesting a relatively notable portion. Moreover, saving time and touching products represented a significant segment of the overall allocation for both online (34%, save time) and in-store (40%, can touch items).
Concerning remaining categories, 24/7 shopping comprised 21% of the total chart (online), making it relatively lower in percentage compared to talking to a salesperson which accounted for 35% (traditional). A similar reason was observed in saving delivery cost and avoid queues, where it made up 31% for avoiding queues (online) and only 8% for saving delivery cost (in-store).
