The pie graphs illustrate the percentage of desktop browser usage between 2019 and 2021.
Overall, except for Edge and Safari, the usage of the 3 other categories decreased slightly. In addition, Chrome had the biggest market share over the entire period.
In 2019, Chrome’s usage accounted for more than two-thirds of the overall share, and this declined by 2% to 67% for the next two years. Safari’s share was equal to that of Firefox and made up nearly one-tenth of the total at the start of the period, before increasing slightly and surpassing the latter, at 10% and 8% respectively during 2021.
Edge users constituted 5% of the market share, before it nearly doubled to 9% and became the third most used browser in 2021. Other browsers’ usage accounted for 8% of the total in 2019, which then witnessed a modest decrease to two-thirds of that of Edge at 6%.
