Overall, the exports from US to Vietnam costs substantially more than that of Vietnamese items of export, with Aircraft parts an machinery taking the top spot for items exporting into Vietnam and coffee and fruits and vegetables being the top of the exports from Vietnam to the US.
There is significantly less export from from Vietnam to US than the other way around. Most of the import items into the US are culinary items, with coffee taking top dog with $23 million and second going to fruit and vegetables with $16 million. Compared to the $72 million of aircraft parts, $35 million of other items, and $30.5 million of machinery from the US to Vietnam, which are mostly industrial machinery and technology, the cost of items importing into US is strikingly little.
The aforementioned items consist of over 75% of the total exports to each other. As for the rest of the items, Vietnam export $4.4 million of seafood, $ 4.3 million of rice, $2 million of garments and $2 million of other items to the US, ranked from highest to lowest. Regarding the US exports, fertilisers contribute $16.5 million, cotton contribute $12 million and cars contribute $6 million to the total exports amount.
