What is notable from the chart is that in 2009, Canada had the highest figure for people arriving when booking online English courses, before decreasing significantly by 2010. In contrast, the percentage of students booking via the Internet from Australia increased dramatically from 2009 to 2010, becoming the most popular method.
In 2009, the arrival method was preferred by 45% of Canada students, surpassing that of Australia and the USA students by 19% and 17% respectively. Remaining methods in Australia and USA were roughly stable, with their figures ranging from 23% to 27%. Meanwhile, in Canada, there were only 6% of students using other methods, while that for students using the Internet and pre-booking with agents were considerably higher, at 27% and 22% correspondingly.
In 2010, less students arrived for booking online English courses, with the figure soaring to 26%. Contrastingly, students using other methods tripled to 18%. Australia recorded a sharp decrease of students pre-booking with agents, soaring to 11%. Meanwhile, the reversing pattern was witnessed in Internet users. In the USA, the percentages of all methods and others remained stable, with a modest increase to 28% of students pre-booking with agents, and the arrival methods which had equal numbers throughout the period
