The pie charts compare the percentages of people who chose five social media platforms as their favourite between 2011 and 2013. Overall, Facebook was the most popular social media site in all three years, although its percentage decreased over time. In contrast, the other platforms showed gradual increases, especially Google+ and LinkedIn.
In 2011, Facebook accounted for the largest share at 59%. However, this figure dropped to 49% in 2012 and then to 38% in 2013. Despite this decline, it still remained the leading platform. Twitter was the second most popular choice, rising slightly from 21% in 2011 to 23% in 2012 and 25% in 2013.
LinkedIn also experienced steady growth, increasing from 10% in 2011 to 12% in 2012 and reaching 15% in 2013. Google+ saw a more noticeable rise, doubling from 5% in 2011 to 10% in 2012, before climbing to 14% in the final year. Pinterest had the lowest figures overall, but it also increased gradually from 5% to 6% and then to 8% over the period.
