In general, the most noticeable trend is Facebook is becoming less popular every year, bur it is still the most popular among most respondents. Also, broadly speaking, it can be seen that Google’s number of fans is rissing and each years from charts shows a similar increase. Overall, it is clear that Twitter has remained in the nearly same position for three years in a row.
In 2011, Facebook was the leading social media platform of global Internet users, with 59% of respondents choosing place as their favourite.Twitter came in second place with 21%.
The remaining 20% was split between LinkedIn, Google + and Pinterest. Furthermore, LinkedIn being the most popular with 10% among them. And Pinterest, Google each receiving 5% of the votes of users.
The figures for Facebook experienced a sharp decline between 2011 and 2013. In 2013, the social network has a peak of 38%, however in 2011, it has 59% of respondents. During these years, Twitter experienced slight growth and was generally stable. It is also important that the number of LinkedIn’s, Google’s, Pinterest’s followers climbed by almost 2 times and LinkedIn is still the leader in their midst.
