The three pie charts compare the popularity of different social media applications among global Internet users in 2011, 2012, and 2013
Overall, Facebook was the most popular platform during 3 years, but its users dropped substantially in 2013. However, others’ dominance rose slightly every year, and widespread use of Pinterest stayed as the least.
To begin with, Facebook had a greatest proportion of users, but the popularity of this application fell every year for about 10%, reaching a minimum of 38% in 2013. In contrast, Twitter’s initial percentage was 21%, and it increased gradually for mere 4%
On the other hand, Linkedin, Google+, and Pinterest were not as highly adopted as previous ones. The change in percentage for Linkedin was approximately the same with Twitter, its proportion rose from 10% to 15% in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Google+ doubled its prevalence in 2012, and hit a maximum of 14%. Despite a slight increase for only 3%, Pinterest was the least mainstream application in 2013.
