Overall, it is clear that the Asian Pacific region had the largest share of global education, while the highest percentage of educational spending was dedicated to high school. Additionally, primary school and secondary school received equal shares of the budget.
An analysis of the first pie chart, the lion’s share of the data belonged to Asia Pacific at over a half of the world population, by far higher than the other regions. This was followed by Europe, Africa and Latin America & Caribbean at 11%, 10% and 9% respectively. Other regions such as North American (7%) and Middle East & North America (6%) had smaller shares. The least common category accounted for others made up just a slight 3%.
Regarding the educational expenditure, high school was the most significant segment, which recorded at around one-third of the total. Next came primary school and secondary school each accounted for 26%, indicated a fairly balanced investment in education. In addition, university and further education only allocated a small percentage of total spending, at 8% and 7% respectively
