The two pie charts illustrate the proportions of revenue sources and expenditures of a children’s charity in the USA in 2016.
Overall, the charity relied heavily on donated food as its primary income, while almost all of the funds were allocated to program services. Other sources of income and spending categories were relatively minor.
In terms of revenue, donated food accounted for the overwhelming majority at 86.6%. Community contributions made up 10.4%, which was the second most important source. Program revenue represented 2.2%, whereas government grants, investment income, and other income each constituted less than 1% of the total.
Regarding expenditures, nearly all of the funds were directed towards program services, which represented 95.8%. Fundraising costs were relatively small at 2.6%, and only 1.6% of the budget was used for management and general expenses.
