Overall,there was a clear downward trend in all categories except books,furniture,petrol, and food.Although,food share stood out as by far the largest share at the end of the analyzed period.
It is noteworthy that,at the beginning of the period,the category cars recorded highest share with approximately 43%,while spending habits with books,furniture, and petrol were much less popular,each proportion was less than 10%.Meanwhile,restaurants and food ratios came in a close second recorded similar percentage figure, with 14% for each category, and computer habits was just little comparising by restaurant habits.
By 2001,the category cars had dropped to second place with 22%, giving up its leadership position to food,which showed dramatic increase for 30%.In the meantime,petrol grew up from 8% in 1971 to 10% in 2001,whereas computers and restaurants declined by 10% and 1%,respectively.As for,books remained last place,however; this figure incresed from 1% in the initial year to 6% by the end of the period.
