The pie charts illustrate the various changes in the spending habits of people in the UK between 1971 to 2001 in terms of books,computers,furniture,restaurants,cars and petrol in percentages.
Overall,the percentage change in books,furniture,petrol and food items decreased across the years as compared to computers,restaurants,cars as well as food items notably increased.Initially,food had the greatest change while recently cars had the greatest changes while computers had the least percentage change as compared to books in the recent year.
In 1971,food had the greatest change amounting to 44 ,cars and petrol while the lowest change were restaurant,books and computer. In 2001, cars had the highestchange of 43 percent,food then lastly computers whereas petrol,furniture and books were represented with the lowest change even though furniture and petrol had a similar change in value.
Compared to 1971,currently most people spend more on cars as compared to food in the early years, followed by restaurant and food.On The other hand,in 1971 people could spend more on food,then cars and petrol in that order.As of 2001,people spend very little on petrol,furniture and books which is the worst unlike in 1971 where people gave less preference to spend oncomputers,books and restaurants.
