As can be seen clearly from the charts, the percentages of adult fiction and children’s fiction increased over the three years., but the opposite is true for the figures for biography, travel, and other categories.
According to the pie chart, adult fiction and children’s fiction shared the same amount which was 20%. In 1992, the proportion of adult fancy in books was 25% and 22% for childhood fiction respectively. Until 2012, there was a significant rise was witnessed in the number of adult fiction books sold by the bookseller, from 25% to 45%, while children’s fiction just slightly increased to 25%.
Furthermore, the bookseller was able to sell 20% for biology and 25% for other books in 1972. After that, each progressively dropped by 5% until, by 2012, biology books and other books were only 12% and 8% respectively. Last of all,the sales proportion of travel books has varied over time, rising from 15% in 1972 to 18% in 1992 and then declining to 12% in 2012.
