The pie charts illustrates the proportion of world forest and timber in five different regions, including South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Nort America.
Overall, it is clear that North America accounts for the largest proportion of timber, whereas Africa has the highest share of world forest. Asia and europe has the same proportion of forest and timber of the world’s.
South America has 16% of total forest and 23% of timber. Africa has the first largest share of forest area at 27%, while its percentage of timber is relatively low at only 9%. However, Asia represents 18% of the timber, whereas it accounts for only 14% of the world forest area. Europe has share 18% of forest areas while it contributes 20% of the timber.
Moreover, North America has consistantly largest proportion of both forest and timber, accounts for25% of forests area and 30% of timber, which is the largest percentage of timber overall the charts.
