The provided floor plans compare the evolutionary alteration of a specific building’s ground structure over a span of 43 years.
Overall, the ground floor experienced substantial transformation, transiting from a professional office to an apartment, followed by further modernisation to a residential environment.
Initially, during the period from 1958 to 1984, the layout was arranged with several office spaces, including meeting, assistants’, and secret rooms, which were occupied on the left, while the manager’s office and kitchen were located on the right. Meanwhile, the reception area and toilet were set beside the bottom-right and bottom-left corners of the layout, respectively.
In contrast, throughout 1985-2000, the site was converted into an apartment. The meeting room was replaced with a living room, whereas the manager’s office and reception area were remodelled into two bedrooms. Regarding the left side of the layout, rooms such as the assistants’, secretary’s, and toilet were turned into bathrooms with showers.
Since 2001, the ground floor has been converted into a flower shop. The bathroom near the entrance was reconfigured to the playground, with a floral landscape above it. The gift-card room was positioned in the top-left corner of the site, replacing the living room. The previous bedrooms were reconstructed into an office and additional flower display area; however, the kitchen has remained at the top-right corner for 43 years.
