The two maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in the layout of a café before its redesign and at the present time.
Overall, the café has been significantly modernised. While the kitchen and toilets have remained in the same locations, several new facilities, including a coffee bar, a takeaway food section, a salad bar, a barbecue area, outdoor seating, and recycling bins, have been added. In contrast, the staff dining rooms and the general serving area have been removed.
Looking first at the left-hand side of the café, the kitchen has remained unchanged. However, the former serving area for all food and drinks has been replaced with a hot meals counter. In addition, a salad bar has been installed along the left wall, while a barbecue area has been constructed in the bottom-left corner. Furthermore, an outdoor seating area has been added outside the café.
Turning to the central and right-hand side, the two staff dining rooms have been demolished and replaced by a takeaway food section and a coffee bar. The large dining area with tables and chairs has been retained, although it now occupies a slightly smaller proportion of the café due to the new facilities. On the right, the bin has been replaced with recycling bins, whereas the toilets have remained in the same position near the entrance.
