The maps depict the developments and alterations which have occurred in Porth Harbour since 2000.
Overall, several changes have been witnessed in the port, most of which are the disappearance of some locations. Replacements, as well as expansions, can also be seen when comparing the two periods.
In particular, located in the top right-hand side of the map in 2000, the dock has doubled in quantity, allowing more space for maritime transportation, whereas the private beach above it has experienced no changes. To the west of the dock, the marina, which was used to store private yachts, has been converted into a place for fishing boats to berth. Adjacent to it, the public area including showers, toilets, and a car park connected to the main road has remained in its place until now.
In the southern segment of the harbor, the road attaching the other car park and the path to the lifeboat in 2000 has been demolished and alternatively, it is connected to the main road like the one in the upper part of the map. Next to it, showers and toilets have been erected. In addition, the abandoned castle, which was located at the bottom right corner of the map in 2000, has been replaced by a hotel. Hence, a new path leading to it and the dining establishments area has been added to cater to tourism demands.
