The maps compare Beechwood Farm in 1950 and today, after its redevelopment. Overall, the farm has been transformed from an agricultural area into a holiday site, with a number of newly-built tourist facilities in the north and northeast. At the same time, many agricultural facilities in the southern part, specifically the farmlands, have not undergone any changes.
Before the redevelopment, Beechwood farm was a solely agricultural site, mainly occupied by farmlands.
The track, which ran eastward from the asphalted road in the northwest, divided the area into two parts. While the northern part was fully occupied by a vast pasture for sheep, the southern one, constrained by a river, featured gardens with trees and soft fruits as well as vegetable patches. To the right of the farmlands, there were a number of farm structures, which included a barn, a farmhouse and a chicken coop.
At present, the site is a modern center of eco-tourism, with a number of tourist-friendly amenities, chiefly in the northern area, and retained agricultural facilities in the south. The track has been turned into a road, with two parking areas adjacent to it from both ends. North to the road, the pasture has given way to a campsite, with some trees planted there. As an eco-friendly source of energy, solar panels have been installed next to the camping field, but separated from it. The area in the south, between the road and the river, has seen fewer changes. The road, which has been slightly extended southwards, now leads to a recently constructed barn, whereas the old one has been converted into holiday cottages. Among other facilities, a farm shop has been built in the area of the fruit garden, which has been kept the same, along with the other farmlands, the farmhouse and the chicken coop.
