The two maps illustrate the layout of a mining town in the past and after re-designed in the present day.
Overall, the mining town has undergone a significant redevelopment, resulting in more entertaining places for the visitors. Moreover, there are less specific areas than there used to be, which allow each site to be expanded.
Regarding the area surrounded by the foot path. A cafe is situated in the center of the town, where a medical room was located in the past. Additionally, two separate waste pits have now been transformed into a picnic area and a driving truck track.
Concerning the remaining spaces. The mine entrance on the top of the map, which used to be for workers, has now been opened for visitors to explore. To the left of the entrance there is no more an office and a staff’s changing room, instead a museum has been built in that area. Furthermore, a lorry park has been demolished, while a parking lot still remains in its position on the bottom left. In addition, a children’s playground has been arranged near the picnic area, out of the foot path.
