The given pictures describe the South Wing of Walton Museum in 2008 and the plan to renovate it in 2012.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that the South Wing of Walton Museum was projected to experience a significant expansion with more necessities would be added to serve visitors in 2012.
To be more specific, in 2008, there was a path directly leading to the entrance of the building. This entrance brought visitors toward the reception room on the first floor, which was next to a reading room. Visitors then could go underground, through a set of stairs which were placed between a shop and a cloaks room. Beside the shop was a special exhibition room.
In 2012, the South Wing of Walton Museum planned to rebuild its entrance by an entrance hall, leading to a reception cloaks room that would be divided to the reading room by a lift. This museum also planned to construct more floors, with the second floor having a self-service room on the right of the lift, restaurant and an outdoor terrace on the left side of the lift. There would be a third floor with only a room for the exhibition area, which would be under a triangle-shaped dome. The new lift system would connect these floors with the basement, where the old cloaks room would be replaced by a children play area while other facilities were projected to remain unchanged.
