The maps demonstrate what transformations had taken place in the South Wing of Walton Museum between 2008 and 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the Museum was expanded with the construction of different amenities.
Looking at the maps in more detail, while there was direct entrance to the building in 2008, people could enter the museum through hall in 2012. Apart from that, terrace had been added on the entrance hall beside new restaurant, however, special exhibition room and shop remained untouched. Similarly, reception continued to be situated on the shop with the addition of cloaks room.
As for stairs, they had been replaced with lift, which looks more modern. The east side of stairs had experienced a lot of significant changes except for reading room. While there used to be cloaks room in the south-east area, children play area had been erected instead. As regards top of the reading room, the construction of exhibition and self-service room had occurred.
