The given diagram illustrates how liquid chocolate is made, tracing the process from chocolate tree to the final pressing stage.
Overall, the process contains of 10 stage that begins with harvesting ripe red pods from cacao tree then fermenting and spreading them in sun to dry them, and ends with pressing crushed cacao beans to a condition of liquid. During these stages, the cacao beans are dried, roasted, crushed and removed outer shell before pressing.
In the initial stages, ripe red pods are collected from cacao tree and cleaned from its skin to reach the seeds. Beans are fermented, in order to keep them fresh for a long time. After this, beans are dried through sunlight and putted to large sacks for convenient delivering.
The cacao beans are delivered to factory and roasted in high temperature at over 300 degrees. In the following step, beans removed from its shells then crushed to tiny pieces. In the final stage, crushed beans are pressed to the point of liquid.
