Overall, it is clearly that 13- 25 age group accounted for by far the highest proportion in the year, while those aged over 55 is the smallest in the social media users. Second largest group was 26 -35 years old.
Looking at the information in more detail, people aged 13 – 25 made up almost half of the total, at 40%. This was followed by the second largest group, those aged for 26-35, who accounted for 35%. By contrast, people aged 36- 45 occupied the middle position among the five groups, at 15%, which was just over one-third of the largest group.
Finally, those aged for 46-55 and over 55 were the least represented groups accounting for 8% and 2% respectively. This shows a clear downward trend in social media usage as age increases, with younger generations dominating online platforms while older people remained relatively less engaged.
