Although the US is the leader, its trend is not smooth. The US was on gradual rise from 1975, then sharp rise in 1985. In the period of late 1980 most countires experienced upward movement. Between 1990 and 1995 the UK and the America were the only with increase, while others declined. Begining from late 90s all nations had an increase. For example, German fell below 10 percent, then recovered after 1995. From 2000s Countries with a top 1 percent income share above 10 percent experienced a decline, while those below this level remained stable.
