The two line graphs illustrate the fluctuations in ownership of electrical appliances and how long it takes for individuals to do house chores in their house in one country during the years 1920 to 2019.
Talking about electrical appliances usage, It can be clearly seen that there was a dramatic increase in people using refrigerators in 1920 to the 2000s. It started from an unknown object to almost the most common furniture in the house that reached 100% in 1980. While vacuum cleaners were also common since there were 30% of houses that used them in 1920. It had a constant increase from 1920 to 1980 and finally touched 100% in 2000. However, washing machines weren’t that common in households compared to the other two with a slight increase from 40% (1920) to 70% (1960). Suddenly, the line dropped a bit in 1980 but rose again after that.
Moving on to the number of hours of housework per week. The overall trend shows a continuous decrease in the percentage of house chores. The line fell drastically from 50 hours per week in 1920 to approximately 35 hours in 1940, and to 20 hours per week. After that, it continued to decrease.
