The pie charts illustrate the percentage of water used for different purposes, including industrial use, agricultural use and domestic use, in six areas of the world (North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Aisa and South East Aisa) .
Overall, water used for agriculture dominates the highest percentage among three purposes, followed by industrial use and domestic use. Additionally, the percentage of agricultural use was the highest in South America, Africa, Central Asia and South East Aisa, while industrial use was the highest in North America and Europe.
As is presented in the pie charts, water used for agriculture dominates more than three-quarter of the charts of Central Asia(88%), Africa(84%), and South East Asia(81%). Although water uesd for agriculture in South America is lower than the areas above, it still the highest percentage among three purposes(71%).
It’s obvious that water used for industry, which at around 10% in other areas, dominates around half of the pies in North America(48%) and Europe(53%), which is the highest percentage in these two areas. Moreover, the domestic use in these six areas dominates a very small proportion.
