The table illustrates the preferences for spending leisure time in theaters and museums in Boston among different age groups in 2005. And the pie chart depicts the satisfactory level among these groups.
Overall, the oldest age group who is more than 60 years does not enjoy either visiting museums or theaters. The youngest age group who is between 18 to 30 years enjoys theaters the most whereas, the age group of 41 to 50 prefers museums. Despite their preferences, a vast majority were not sure whether they have actually been satisfied with their choices.
Looking at the details of the table, among the two activities, spending time in a theater had become the most preferred activity for the younger people of age 18 to 30, having 68% preference. However, this drastically dropped with age, the oldest age group showing the minimum preference of 4% for visiting theaters. Concerning museums, age group 41 to 50 was very much interested in visiting them, accounting 56% of the population. Age groups of 18 to 30 and 31 to 40 had almost equal preference for visiting museums, 23% and 24% respectively. There also the oldest age group showed the least preference of 11% in visiting museums.
Nevertheless, an overwhelming majority of 82% were not sure about whether they got the satisfaction by these leisure time activities. Only a minority was aware of the output, only 8% been satisfied and 10% haven’t been able to get the satisfaction they expected.
