Overall It can be clearly seen that the nukber of doctors gradually increased. We can also see that there was a noticeable rise at the number of female doctors and those who came from abroad.
Initially the number of doctors in Australia was just over 23 thousands in 1986. By 2006 this figure dramatically increased by 11, 730, reaching a total of 35,450. While male and native Australian doctors displayed the highest proportions at first however at the end of timeframe their proportions was consistently fall over.
In 1986 the number of female doctors was arround 23% and by 2006 this percentage rose to 40%. Additionally in 1986 the proportion for doctors who born in Australia were around 62% and the percentage for those who born overseas was only 37% but in 2006 the percentage for both who born in Australia and abroad showed the same percentages 50% .
