The given graphs illustrate the usage of internet in the US during 2004 and 2010 by five engines(Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, AOL, and Ask Jeeves)

Overall, the number of searchers increased throughout the given period. However, three platforms still had lower percentage of users and also number of people using Yahoo was declined. Interestingly, Google remained the most popular engines.

For the group of high percentage of Americans users, Google was beginning with approximately 40% in 2004, and had a significant growth to reach about 65% in 2009. After that, the proportion was almost levelled out until 2010. Yahoo, which was the second place, started with just below the percentage of Google users accounted for 32%; then, the number of searchers was dramatically dropped to roughly 20% in 2010.

For the lower percentage of users, Microsoft’s searchers was decreased to around 10% before came back to the similar amount with the beginning, which almost 20% in 2010. AOL and Ask Jeeves shared the same percentage of users during a long period of time, and then AOL outnumbered Ask Jeeves during 2009 and 2010.
